about

Before we had any lyrics, the chords to this song reminded Niveous of a cross between "Like The Weather" and "Eat For Two" by 10,000 Maniacs. So Brookes said, "why can't we write a song called "Abortion Weather"? like what the weather was like on the day someone got an abortion? it's as valid a subject as any, really".

lyrics

There was a shiver in my bones
And it wasn’t from the weather
It was the weight of their stares
Trying to drag me down
They don’t know my life
If we’d be good together
They have an imaginary friend
I shouldn’t let down

There’s no need to cry
I’ve made a choice for my life
No one can scare me this time
Doing what I think is right

They call this the path to hell
Committing the worst of sins
Reciting from their pages
of years and years of shame
I’m a stranger passing through
Like the stranger within
Our lives weren’t meant to cross
We’ll go our separate ways

There’s not a cloud in the sky

There’s no need for goodbyes
Or quiet contemplations
Don’t need to pray for forgiveness
Or start hating myself
They never cared about my life
Never learned my situation
So they can take their blame
and go fuck themselves

There’s no need to cry
I’ve made a choice for my life
No one can scare me this time
Doing what I think is right
